So I'm back to my long neglected blog. I fell out of love with my blog after it ate one of my entries and then digested it into cyberspace, never to be seen again. Then I wondered who the hell would be interested in my chaotic life, but after some soul-searching (well another good idea!), I've reinvented myself as "cool, funky mum" who blogs, knows who Justin Bieber is and that High School Musical is soooooooooo last year!
Everything at the minute seems like a good idea, but the reality is that with one hyper five (and a half - very important) year old and one eighteen month old who thinks that she is invincible, that my good ideas, are never a good idea! I need to employ someone to stop me having "good ideas!", or at least clout me round the head when I say them out loud, and heaven help me when I have a "good idea" and tell the children!
So anyway, some of my latest good ideas included buying a new tent and investing in camping holidays as our main family holiday! It was fantastic, except that our new tent took two people to erect and the help of the kids probably didn't speed things up! I learnt a lesson, when it came to packing it up, the kids were packed into the car with a new DVD! Problem solved, though it added £15 onto the cost of our 'cheap' holiday! I'm not too convinced that the hubby sees camping as a cheap alternative, especially as I have discovered glamping and am now on the hunt for solar powered fairy lights, bunting and colour co-ordinating the tent! I have grand ideas of being one of those who laze around reading books and drinking wine as the sun goes down, with the children behaving impeccably with a swingball set......aaaah, it's nice to dream!
With the school holidays now here, I'm putting together a collection of fun (and cheap) activities to do with the children. The hardest problem is the age difference between them, L is a very clever 5 1/2 year old, M is a very boisterous 18 month old who wants to do everything that her big sister does! This presents some interesting challenges for me, but hey, we manage (just!) So over the next few blogs, I'll share some of my "good ideas" for the summer holidays, someone please be ready with that slap to the face though!!
